Characteristics of Vinegar
- Mildly acidic
- Dissolves dirt, soap scum, and hard water deposits
- Natural deodorizer
- Aroma disappears when dry
- No coloring agents (safe for grout)
- Cuts detergent residue (fabric softener and static cling reducer)
- Sets colors to prevent fading in new clothing
- Mild bleach (great for grass stains, that actually are set by laundry detergent
Spray Cleaner:
Mix in a spray bottle
1 c. white vinegar
1 c. water
Use to clean counter tops, lightly soiled range tops/back splash, floors, and exterior of toilet
*To use on tough bathroom surfaces such as shower walls, remove spray nozzle and heat solution in the microwave until barely hot, spray generously on surface, let stand 10-15 minutes, scrub, rinse.
Undiluted Vinegar:
Hard water deposits and soap scum
Inside of toilet bowl – first pour ½ gallon of water down toilet to empty bowl, pour vinegar in toilet and use a scrub brush or pumice stone to clean. I also sprinkle the bowl with baking soda before pouring the vinegar in, let it sit for a few minutes, and then you can usually clean with a damp sponge or cloth.
it also works great in the microwave. mix water with vinegar cook in microwave for 5 mins, let it sit with the door shut for another 5, and the muck just wipes right off. no need to scrub.
