- Water (one gallon per person)

- Blanket (wool for warmth, space blanket for light weight)
- Cloth sheet (cotton)

- First aid kit and booklet
- Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, deodorant, feminine supplies)
- Cleaning supplies (hand soap, washcloth, towel, etc)
- Matches (in waterproof container)
- Dishes (aluminum or unbreakable plastic)
- Eating utensils (stainless or polycarbonate)
- Can opener (the small manual kind)
- Bucket (collapsible type if possible)
- Flashlight and batteries (kept separately,-together)
- Candles (the long burning variety)...sister Weems has some to purchase
- Signal flare
- Ax (the smaller size for less weight)
- Shovel (folding)
- Radio (battery powered)
- Paper (waterproof would be best)...I didn't know they had that!
- Pencil (or ballpoint pen) (a space pen is ideal)
- Infant needs (if applicable)
- Scriptures (the small set would be most convenient)...read 'm!
- Genealogical records (kept in zip top plastic bag)
- Patriarchal blessing
- Legal documents (will, birth cert., policies, contracts etc.)
- Cash (as much as you think you will need for the situation)
- Portable containers for supplies (back pack, duffel bag)
